Ninety seconds and we had a laser scan of the Makerhaus meetup. Two minutes more and we added color photo-like quality to that scan (I’m showing the non-color option below because of operator error in getting the color portion to load). Thanks to Scott Hayes from FARO (Northwest ) who was able to join us on very short notice, to show us professional 3D laser scanning in action. I tried to zoom in on the lasercut dinosaur as you can see in the slide gallery. As soon as I get my laser scan chops sharpened (!) I will upload the model so you can wander around the very cool Makerhaus space yourself.
We gathered to talk about Reality Computing and, as usual, I am grateful for the Autodesk team that surrounds me – Robert Shear answered all the technical questions. Imaginit, which sponsored the event, informing folks on all things 3D, and Stratasys brought in a ton of cool samples and talked about the latest and greatest in 3D printing.
Thanks to Ellie Kemery, co-founder of Makerhaus, and the community that surrounds her for welcoming us into the space. We had a great evening of ideas and enthusiasm.
